Prior to making his home in Florida, Ray served as the Charles A. Dana professor of music at Randolph College in Virginia where he also was recognized with the Katherine Graves Davidson distinguished faculty award. He has concertized and conducted piano master classes in the USA, Canada, East and West Europe, Australia, Asia, South America, and the Caribbean.
Following a prizewinning debut at the Geneva International Piano Competition, he performed in recital at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall and appeared in concert and with orchestra in prestigious venues including Paris’s Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, London’s Royal Albert Hall, and New York’s Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center.
Dr. Luck has been a guest teacher on Fulbright senior lectureships in Barbados, Canada, and Greece, and has toured the Caribbean as arts envoy for the US State Department. Certified as Master Teacher by the American Music Teachers National Association, Ray gives frequent performance and pedagogy workshops in the Caribbean. He was appointed a Member of the Order of Service of Guyana with the Cacique’s Crown of Honor for outstanding musical achievement.
